Tales of A Forgotten Time

Traditionally Christianity has simple words in English to describe really complex operations of our whole being. In some ways they are useful and in other ways that lead to endless arguments and discussions that end up getting nowhere and ending in misconceptions.

For example; the recent “blaps” of Clinton Richard Dawkins in this book “The GOD delusion”, which he has quickly eclipsed with a new book. However as I am a lover of YHVH or the GOD of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, I am not going to allow this bat to flap away. Firstly, for the following comment and secondly for his shoddy treatment of the arguments for the existence of GOD. < read Dr. W.L. I think part of the reason why men and woman make these sort of statements is because like King Herod, they become filled up with their own sense of importance and begin to embrace they ideas that somehow they are superior. I think the description that Clinton “Richard” Dawkins uses for GOD might have been fitted some of the tyrants of our time.

I must be perfectly honest with you. When I began doing the whole FORUM bit, I had to face a man like this, a fire breather. He was convinced that the God of the Old Testament was a MONSTER…I was afraid to reply for I had read the OLD TESTAMENT…and assembled and opinion that was pretty close to that…but it was only once I put all my preconceptions to one side and began reading from GENESIS all the way to REVELATION that I began to understand [YHVH] — I am still a member of that FORUM…and I returned some time later and found that my friend who was all a fire breathing dragon…had softened and had found that there was much more to the STORY that needed to be explored before one just started firing off SALVOS in the name of NATURALISM, ATHEISM and or BIOLOGY…LOL…Hey we all have to start somewhere…even Professors..LOL…so let’s see how the naughty schoolboy got his kicks….

When I was looking around for this quote, and it is certainly a keeper and I am sure will be the subject of many sermons in the future, I discovered the anti-thesis, or should I say the accurate thesis presented by someone from the Ning Social Network, which goes like this….

“The God of the New Testament is arguably the most sacrificial of religious founders; impartial and proud of it; a religious-hypocrisy intolerant; an ardent, prayer-engrossed temple cleanser; a women-dignifying, child-elevating, enemy-loving, torturer-forgiving, disease-healing, soul-saving, life-giving, death-conquering, sin-paying liberator” ( J.C. Let's move on.

Now you can see how a simple word like GOD, or G_d (out of respect to those Jewish readers who love YHVH. So do I! ) can be incorrectly defined.
However, it is not just the problem of getting a definition of the word, but it is being able to receive what has been revealed in the OLD TESTAMENT and THE NEW TESTAMENT.
Firstly it is a progressive, divine revelation of THE PLAN OF GOD to redeem mankind through the redemptive work of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. When CLD (Dawkins) starts with GOD, he begins in deep water, or should I say he begins eating meat, before he has even tasted the milk. He is a baby in the woods, trying to make a fire, and he is suffering the results of his silliness. But forget about him now.

The elementary teachings of the Gospel are where any young believer needs to start. Of course, on needs to be born of the Spirit, before one starts with the elementary stuff. It is spiritual food, and for that one needs to be spirtually alive to GOD.
The elementary teachings of GOD are actually part and parcel of the Judaism, at least as in the letter to the Hebrews.

Hebrews 6, presents us with these elementary foundations to a faith that is settled already upon THE FOUNDATION, namely JESUS CHRIST. Without these foundations one cannot even begin to chew BIG MEATY studies about the Doctrine of GOD, or the doctrine of MAN. However, they do give one a good grounding in truth, that will then help one to grasp the revelation of Scripture. This spiritual understanding, is of such a nature that if those who had crucified the SON OF GOD had embraced it as Nicodemus did, they would have not crucified the Prince of Life.

There are a few words in the first two doctrines, namely 'repentance' and 'dead works' as well as 'faith' and the one that CLD did not seem to get 'G_d'

The doctrines themselves deal with HUGE preconceptions about what TRUE CHRISTIANITY IS and IS NOT.
The Christian does not offer blood sacrifices but puts his trust in the ONE SACRIFICE, and no more blood needs to be shed. FOR IT WAS ONCE FOR ALL. The religion that goes on sacrificing is dead. It ended physically in 70AD, but the actual end happened on the day that Jesus died. The sourse material for these studies was from Derek Prince Ministries, part of a series that I received AFTER the FOUDATION had been laid. (They are in the Theology Section, so they are not thesis – antithesis, though there is a fair amount of ribbing!!! The latter seemed to go better than the first one.)

It has been my observation on Forums over the years, that these elementary doctrines are challenged by unbelievers and those caught up in cults and the occult. They cannot control themselves for these elementary ideas are the food of babes and being yet unborn of the Spirit, they gnash their teeth against them. Much like CLD has done above.

Now to Nirvikalpa Samadhi.

Why?

Well, we are still looking at the primary simple words used in these first principles of YHVH, namely "repentance" "dead works" "faith" and "GOD"… I am only interested in one word, when I think of Nirvikalpa Samadhi. The word is FAITH.

What is FAITH ?

I have been greatly tickled over the years at the sorts of responses that have been on public forums. Everyone these days has an opinion. Most of it runs like this, 'Faith' is the place where reason cannot go. Sort of a magical bridge to YHVH, which has nothing to do with reason.

Let's read think about this… faith is…

"..the total response of man's moral being.."

"intuition"

"conscience, the distinction between right and wrong"

"small voice of the heart within"

"categorical imperative" ie. direct, unreasoned, and disinterested command.

"moral sense"

“a disinterested preference for what is morally good, without selfish interest and without the expectation of gain”

“the will to believe”

They certainly do stretch our thinking to embrace a more wholistic approach to the simple English word, ‘F A I T H’…or Forsaking All I Trust Him, but such silliness is to go backwards instead of forwards and here is a quote from Lin Yutang’s book that led me straight to Nirvikalpa Samadhi, oddly enough an idea with only produced one link on my gOOgle…LOL.

“This is the stupendous fact about man and his spiritual development and his striving after [YHVH]. It is NOT “faith”; it is NOT A CONTRADICTION OF REASON; it is merely a HEALTHY INSTINCT. It is the [YHVH] GIVEN MORAL SENSE.”

and he continues….

“It is man’s total response to the Universe through his moral nature. IT IS NOT THE ANTITHESIS OF REASON; it is THE HIGHER REASON!!!”

and goes on to end this line of thought by saying…

“It is SAMADHI OF ZEN BUDDHISTS, ………THE FLASH OF INSIGHT INTO THE REAL THING-IN-ITSELF”

and finally ends by adding…

“And this residual area of knowledge happens to be THE MOST SIGNIFICANT area of HUMAN KNOWLEDGE and of moral consciousness, in which [YHVH], the SOUL, and IMMORTALITY and MAN’S WHOLE MORAL BEING ARE ALL INVOLVED.”

I can hear the words of Jesus, “You say Lord, Lord…(even devils do) …but you do not the things that I asked you to do…visit those in prison, feed the hungry, …”

It is small wonder that skeptic shout angrily at religion, when much of the time, the word ‘FAITH’ means sitting in a pew and singing hymns to Santa Claus. When Jesus said “BELIEVE IN ME”, it was linked to “do as I do” and “love one another” and “love thy neighbour”…One has to remember the first principle……

Repent (Change your mind) away from ‘Dead Works’ (your own attempts at clambering up the religious ladder of doing good deeds to outweigh your bad deeds) ….and added to that… Jesus’ words…”REPENT, for the KINGDOM OF …[who?] ….the Kingdom that is in you…needs a KING….that is what is real FAITH…when the Spirit of Jesus Christ is IN YOU. GOD IN US…hey we don’t walk around saying…I AM YHVH…but we are come into SONSHIP..and DAUGHTERSHIP…and that is why I agree with Lin Yutang, that what FAITH is, is not an escape from REASON, it is to take into oneself the MIND OF CHRIST, HIS SPIRIT IN US…and that is LIFE and LIFE MORE ABUNDANTLY…and we the communicate with HIS MIND…and our minds become FRUITFUL…not the way FAITH is understood to be an escape…ie. RELIGION…faith is NOT RELIGION, it is US THINKING GOD’S THOUGHTS ALONG WITH HIM….

Like I said to an young borrowed faith wanna-be CLD nOOb atheist who was out to demolish [YHVH] with all the eagerness of his evangelical mentor..CLD.. Before you get into THEOLOGY, you need to take and essential step… He ignored me and eventually the question was pressed, howbeit indirectly…and I answered…Step 2. Study about YHVH…Step 1. Get to know [YHVH] ..he ignored me and and carried on arguing and arguing…and getting more and more angry…just like old professor CLD…raging against preconceptions about [YHVH] ..we have all been there …some stayed and never got past their preconceptions…embracing their small man ways..others got tall and saw over the wall…that though their were giants, there was also bounteousness beyond description.

I shall now sit quietly and contemplate the LORD…will you join me ?
